The 70th birthday celebration for Graham and Juliette organised by Mave Hiseman was a brilliant success.

Juliette may be 70 but she still had enough puff to blow out her candles on her 70th birthday cake.

They thought it was a normal MS Coffee morning ! ! Graham and Juliette (Chairman and Secretary of Gosport and Fareham MS) were completely surprised when they found they were attending a Party Lunch celebration to mark their 70th birthdays.

A very packed Parish Centre was the venue for the Regional Quiz - In the forefront of this picture are Gosport and Fareham Members - Caroline Panton, Sarah Woodhouse and David Faville.

The Regional Quiz was organised by Mave, Robert and Paul Hiseman - Here they are thanked by the Regional Secretary Caroline Birch.

The Michaelmas Fayre stall was consistently busy throughout the day until we had nothing left to sell!! The Fayre, was another opportunity for the society to show off it's new table cloth (Created by the ever inventive Alan Brind). This seemed to create a huge amount of attention bringing lots of people to the stall and spending their money. It was a great fayre for the society, and everyone who helped with the stall thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The best Michaelmas Fayre ever - The specialially produced CD of Graham's collection of old Gosport postcards was an immediate hit. We sold out!! More are being made to sell at future events. Off to the Atlantic !! The Alison MacGregor sets sale with Branch Members on board.

Hamble Trip - interest was so great this year - Gosport and Fareham had to organise three trips on the Alison MacGregor to take allthose who wanted to go.

A photograph which records two occasions one happy and one sad.

The happy occasion was Gosport and Fareham member Alan Brind receiving his Shining Star for outstanding service to the branch. Gosport and Fareham Chairman Graham Hewitt praised Alan for his exemplary service and his innovative ideas. "Alan has been a tower of strenghth never letting his MS get in the way of helping and serving others" said Graham.

The sad occasion was that Alan's presentation was the last Branch activity which veteran Shinning Star holder Vernon Rowlands attended three weeks before he died." Vernon was an inspiration and an example to us all for his concern for others and devotion to the work of the Multiple Sclerosis Society" said Juliette Hewitt Branch Secretary.
